Is parenting primarily a relationship? A role? A set of responsibilities? A destination? My goal with this mix was to compile a set of ideas that would illuminate various aspects of parenting and then bring them together in a way that allows users to hold many of them simultaneously and consider how to rearrange or prioritize them. There are pictures dealing with identity, urging users to consider how becoming a parent can challenge and change a person. There are also several pictures exploring the "how" of parenting, urging users to consider which influences and values shape their choices. I hope that overall, the mix is able to open up pathways of thinking so that users will see flexibility within the concept of parenting, encouraging them to approach it with increased creativity and strength.
